The Donuts I used for the donut tower
I used glazed donuts with white icing and gold editable glitter that my small local donut shop made. Ask your favourite donut shop which donut colours and styles they offer. The outside had approx 24 glazed donuts and the tier cake centre was with filled approx 4 plain cinnamon donuts.

If you are on a tight budget, then the donuts from your local supermarket will also work great, especially for school birthday celebrations when you take your own cake into class.

The Daisies I used for the donut tower
I purchased a pack of flatback craft Daisies from my local $2 discount store. I had hunted everywhere for a faux bouquet but there was none anywhere due to Daisies being on-trend. But if you can find a fake daisy bouquet then you can use this as an alternative.

EASY STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON
HOW TO MAKE DAISY FLOWER CAKE DECORATIONS
STEP 1
  • Break or cut the ends off your toothpicks
  • Take your craft Daisy flowers out of the packet. If you are using a bouquet of faux flowers instead, then pull all the flower ends off the plastic vine/stems
STEP 2
  • Place the blunt end of the toothpick into the opening at the back of the flower. If the hole is too large, you can add some glue while inserting and leave it to dry.
STEP 3
  • Make as many as you need.
  • I also had a larger white and yellow Gerbera I used for the main base flower which matched the daisies. You can cut off the leaves from the gerbera to use as cake decorating highlights
STEP 4
  • Stick the flowers into your Donut tower or Cake
EASY STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE A BEAUTIFUL ON TREND DONUT CAKE TOWER
STEP 1
  • Calculate how many donuts you need to make your layer donut tower cake.
  • You can view the diagram below on how to calculate how many donuts you will need by gradually using less each layer
STEP 2
  • Place your first tier of donuts in a circle
  • Place smaller cinnamon donuts in the center to fill the space. These can be squashed in, you will not see them.
The cinnamon tier fills the centre to create a flat base so your fancy doughnuts are stable and will not collapse in the middle.
STEP 3
  • Place your next donut tier on top, making sure it's a gradual incline. normally you lose one donut per layer but you can do whatever looks right for you.
  • Place a cinnamon donut/s in the centre for stability.
STEP 4
  • Repeat Step 3 moving up the tiers. You don't need to place the cinnamon donuts in the middle once the gap gets smaller.
  • When you reach the top, place one donut in the centre.
TIP - Save the best looking donut for your top centre one. That will be the one everyone focuses on and the highlight of your beautiful Donut Tower.

STEP 5
  • Start placing your Daisies in the donut tower however you choose.

I placed them in a messy diagonal pattern going from the top to the bottom, with a small section on the opposite side while adding some random leaves where I thought it needed a pop of colour. I also placed a large Gerbera in the same colour palette on the bottom tier to add some impact.
