HOW TO MAKE A MINI HAND SANITISER HOLDER FOR BEGINNERS

NO SEW DESIGN with FREE PATTERN

As part of my Stay Safe series, I wanted to create a tutorial for a bag hand sanitiser holder so you won't have to look through your handbag anymore to find it, spreading hidden germs. I have seen a lot of great hand sanitiser sewing designs online and know they are a great way to carry around your alcohol-based sanitiser when you do not have access to soap and warm water.

So I put my brain to work and decided I wanted to create a design that everyone of all ages can make and is a super easy beginner craft project with no sewing involved and no buttons or push snaps.
Not everyone has access to clip machines/tools or is confident enough to sew a buttonhole, so I sat at my new craft desk today for a few hours designing this pattern for everyone to enjoy. This design is for a standard-size 50ml mini sanitiser bottle. By the way, I am super happy with my new craft desk, I am loving how big it is but that's a story for another day.

INSTRUCTIONS
  • Print your Free Pattern on A4 size paper, 100% scale
  • Cut out the paper pattern
  • Cut 1 x panel piece A
  • Cut 1 x panel piece B
TIP - USE A WATERPROOF FABRIC
By using vinyl, faux leather or plastic, you can easily wash down quickly and get rid of any germs quicker than if you use a standard fabric. I have used silver glitter vinyl for this tutorial
  • Place your pattern on top of the fabric/plastic
  • Cut with sharp scissors around the edge of the pattern. Mark around the pattern onto the plastic with a marker if you are not confident just cut it
  • Cut the lines on the inside of the template with a craft knife or fold it over and cut with scissors
  • Join two keyring loops together creating one ring at the bottom and one ring at the top. Leave one chain in the centre of both rings
  • Slide one end of the ring over the top hook loop. You could also create 2 small slits and place a ring through those but it is not needed
  • Alternatively, you can use a metal snap hook or a carabiner. These attachments are great to clip to your belt loop at work or trolley at the supermarket
  • Weave Panel B through both holes on the back of Panel A. Weave from the backside of the panel and outwards, creating a cross with both panels now joined, Ensure the inside of the plastic is both facing the same way. Eg the glitter side of the vinyl I used are both facing outwards so once folded over, the backside will be hidden
  • Place your mini hand sanitiser into the vinyl pouch case
  • With your top loop, slide into the top hole to lock it into place
TIP - This is a great design for the kid's school bags to encourage them to keep their hands clean or to clip to their work pants if you are an essential worker in retail and can't access water and soap regularly
  • Clip to your bag or keychain
  • Refill your pouch with a new alcohol hand cleaner when it runs out and clean the case with an alcohol wipe or soap and water daily
I hope you love this no-sew pouch design as much as I do. Please use the design for personal use only and not reproduce it for profit. I work hard on my templates and offer them for Free to the craft community. If my patterns continue to get resold and profits made from them I will have to start offering my free templates as email subscription only which I do not want to do. Thanks for understanding 💗
