Delicious Gluten Free & Vegan Platters that ALL your guests will eat these holidays

Are you looking for the ultimate Gluten Free or Vegan platters for your holiday celebrations that are easy to make and involves no cooking?

Well, keep reading as I have put together a delicious platter that ALL your guests will enjoy, not just your celiac or Vegan guests.

In my house, I have a husband who is Celiacs & Dairy Free, one daughter who is Celiac & Vegan, and my youngest daughter who is Vegan, plus my extended relatives who are GF and Vegan. So it is hard to entertain or go to family and friends parties & BBQs because let's face it, it's stressful to cater to allergies and know 100% that the food is GF with no cross-contamination.

But over the years I have mastered the art of creating totally GF, VEG, DF platters or grazing tables that are easy to make, not too expensive and you can find at most major supermarkets. Below I will share some tips on what to look for and an inspirational platter to droll over!

GLUTEN-FREE & VEGAN PLATTERS THAT ALL YOUR GUESTS WILL EAT & ENJOY THESE HOLIDAYS

Holiday parties at your home can be hard enough without that added worry of having to cook for guests with allergies or food preferences. But I am here to tell you it is easier than you think and so yummy that all your guests will eat without even knowing it is GF, DF and VEGAN.

Grazing table & Platter Supplies

Here are some basic foods to place on your table platter for guests to nibble on, you can use all of these or some, depending on the availability in your local store & budget. I purchased all of my food from Woolworths Australia but I am sure with my list, you can find your own products if these are not available in your county or region.

FRESH FOOD

You can add any fresh food to your food platter art, for best results use different colours and textures.
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Grapes
  • Figs
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Nuts of your choice
  • Apple (put lemon juice when cut to stop them from going brown)

VEGAN GF PACKET FOOD

If you look in the health food section of the supermarket, you will find a huge variety of gluten-free and vegan crackers, chips and snack-type food that you can add to your platter. Look for unique colours and flavours to add variety and texture.

VEGAN GF DIPS

When looking for your dips, try to buy flavours that the majority of guests will eat and buy a few in contrasting colours.

Finding Gluten-free and Vegan dips can get hard, lots say organic but will not be suitable for allergies, so always read the label.

VEGAN GF CHEESE ALTERNATIVES

Just because you are making a GF Vegan platter does not mean you have to avoid cheese, there are lots of cheese alternatives that you can use that taste great and have the same texture as cheese.

You can normally find these in the Dairy-Free fridge section mixed in with other Vegan food. If you need GF, please check every label as not all Vegan is GF.
6 TIPS ON PREPARING GLUTEN-FREE FOOD FOR CELIACS
  1. Always use utensils that are clean and have not been used on other food. This will avoid cross-contamination
  2. Check for Wheat, Rye, Barley, and Malt in the ingredients. If you are not sure, only buy products marked Gluten Free. Avoid Gluten Friendly & May Contain Gluten. For more info read here
  3. Do not place in bowls, pans or pots that are not thoroughly cleaned
  4. Keep the food when displayed on your party table a good distance away from other food to avoid cross-contamination by double-dipping and crumbs falling on your GF Platter
  5. Let your guests know there is a Celiac at your event
  6. Plan your trip to the supermarket or buy online for store pickup. When you buy online, it is easier to read the ingredients and manage your budget.
I hope this platter has given you the inspiration to make your own GF, DF Vegan Platters and grazing tables for all your parties and events and show that they can be beautiful and as tasty as others.

Happy Holidays!

    1. I know that fear too well Nat, the last thing you want is an ugly tasteless platter that everyone will be eating haha. It's is scary at first but once you hunt what your local supermarkets have and know what you can work with, it makes it a bit easier. I hope yours turned out well :)
